A Short Hike — Interactive Visual Novel
Climb Hawk Peak in this cozy interactive adventure. Meet fellow hikers, discover hidden trails, and learn that the destination matters less than the climb.
A Short Hike — The Mountain Is Calling
Claire is a young bird visiting Hawk Peak Provincial Park. She is waiting for a phone call — an important one, the kind that knots your stomach — but there is no signal in the valley. To get reception, she needs to climb to the summit. The only problem: she has no idea how long the trail is, what she will find along the way, or whether the person she hopes will call has anything left to say.
So she starts walking.
About This Experience
A Short Hike is a masterpiece of smallness. The entire game takes place on one mountain, and the entire story unfolds across a single afternoon. But within that afternoon, Claire will meet a dozen fellow hikers, discover hidden trails, find golden feathers that let her soar on thermal winds, and slowly — almost imperceptibly — stop worrying about the phone call.
Because the mountain does not care about your problems. It simply exists: beautiful, indifferent, and full of people who are also working through something. The painter who cannot finish his masterpiece. The runner training for a race she is not sure she wants to win. The child who has lost a toy and the parent who knows exactly where it is but lets the child search anyway, because some discoveries are better when you make them yourself.
Game Features
• Exploration Without Pressure — There is no timer, no enemy, no fail state. Just the mountain and your curiosity. Follow the marked trail or wander off-path. Glide from high places. Fish in mountain lakes. Dig for treasure on the beach.
• Gliding Mechanics — Collect golden feathers to increase your stamina, letting you climb higher, glide farther, and reach places that seemed impossible when you started.
• Small Stories Everywhere — Every character on the mountain has something to say if you take the time to listen. Some will ask for help. Some will offer advice. Some will simply share the view and sit with you in companionable silence.
