Strip away the comedy and Konosuba is a functional RPG world. The Adventurer's Guild in Axel has a quest board, class cards, skill purchases, and a ranking system. Monsters roam the countryside. The Demon King's generals scheme in distant fortresses. And a group of adventurers — theoretically — should be able to work their way up from killing giant toads to saving the world.

The RPG Systems (That Work Surprisingly Well)

• Class System — Choose from Adventurer, Archwizard, Crusader, Priest, Thief, and more. Each class has distinct skill trees and growth paths
• Skill Cards — Learn abilities by purchasing skill cards with skill points earned from leveling up. This system means every party member develops differently
• Quest Board — Daily quests range from "kill five giant toads" to "investigate the Demon King's barrier." Rewards scale with danger
• Party Synergy — The system actively rewards balanced parties. A team with a tank, healer, DPS, and support gets bonuses that a team of four archwizards does not
