Mara at Dusk — Interactive Skyfarer Roleplay in The Last Horizon

Play Mara at Dusk, an interactive roleplay set in The Last Horizon. A live LLM writes every scene as you decide whether to relight the dying beacon, keep it dark, or rewrite the promise that stranded Mara at the relay. Browser playable, with five transparent Mara sprites and painterly storm backgrounds.
Final Product: Mara at Dusk

Mara at Dusk is a one-to-one interactive roleplay set on a broken mountaintop relay in The Last Horizon. You are the Traveler who found Mara alive beside a failing signal heart. She is grateful, careful and quietly terrified — not of the storm, but of the searchlights moving beyond the cracked glass, and of the promise that kept her here after her crew escaped.
The relay is dying, and its damage was made from the inside. The first decision arrives in the opening exchange: wake the beacon and answer whoever is listening, alter its message into a false route, or keep it dark and hide. Nothing is scripted twice — a live language model writes Mara’s replies, the storm’s interruptions and the consequences of every choice in the moment, while it never speaks for you.
Trust grows slowly here. Mara will follow your lead, apologise for asking, and then refuse — politely and absolutely — when another life is at stake. Read her silences, ask about the brass token, search the grounded skiff, and decide what kind of rescue she is actually allowed to accept.

Game Features
- Live LLM Narrative — Mara never repeats a scene. A deepseek-v4-flash narrator writes her dialogue, the storm’s interruptions, the searchlight sweeps and the available moves as you play, keeping every reply in her warm, deferential, quietly stubborn voice. It reacts to what you actually say and never decides your words, feelings or consent for you.
- One Beacon, Three Ways Out — Relight the relay and call whoever is answering, rewrite its message into a false route, or keep it dark and let the searchlights pass. Each choice changes who finds the refuge, how fast they arrive, and what Mara believes you are willing to risk.
- Three Investigable Threads — The Dying Beacon (why the relay is fading and who will hear it), The Promise She Keeps (the brass token and the crew names crossed out of the flight log), and Lights Beyond the Cloudbank (who is searching the storm, and why their lights already know where Mara is). Each thread carries its own clues, actions, discoveries, reveals and consequences.
- A Character With Boundaries — Mara is sweet, kind and gently deferential with someone she trusts, and she still disagrees when her conscience is at stake. Affection develops through patience and shared decisions, not through demands — a gentle refusal to let her sacrifice herself can deepen trust more than any order.
- Four Storm-Bound Locations — The broken relay chamber with its cracked glass dome, Mara’s grounded skiff and its fresh flight log, the windglass causeway where the searchlights cross, and the sealed lower chamber that only opens when Mara’s compass and the damaged signal heart are read together.
- Browser Playable, Instantly Shareable — No install, no client, no account required to open the page. Play on desktop or phone, share the link with a friend, and let the same live narrator carry the scene from the first lantern-light to the last searchlight.

Production Process Breakdown
The world began from one seed line — “This is a scrap world for all sorts of small projects.” — and grew into The Last Horizon: a cloud sea under a pale ringed planet, ruined black citadels, a floating sanctuary and a warning network nobody remembers building. Thirty-eight works now live on the board: storyboards, concept frames, five Wayfarer expressions, five Mara expressions, six scene backgrounds, three endings, two key illustrations and the roleplay itself.
Mara’s identity was locked first — wind-swept chestnut-brown hair with a small braided crown, slate-gray hooded travel mantle, layered ivory shirt, charcoal leather-and-cloth armor, dark bracers and tall boots — then varied five times across neutral, warm, quiet, tense and dramatic. The same pass produced five Wayfarer expressions, six clean 16:9 environments and two storm-relay key illustrations, each rendered on an empty plate so the character could be separated cleanly later.
Every sprite source was matted to a transparent PNG with BiRefNet, inspected for halo, stray cable and edge debris, then placed on the board beside its own prompt. Sprites and backgrounds keep a consistent silhouette and palette so any expression can stand over any scene without relighting.
The roleplay was written around Mara, not around a plot: a premise, a relationship graph, three investigable threads with clues and consequences, four storm-bound locations, and the rule that the narrator never decides the Traveler’s words, feelings or consent. It was published with one click as a share link, and a live model now improvises every exchange in her voice.

"Wide cinematic fantasy game background, 16:9. "Use the attached reference_image as a style and architecture anchor only. Create a new original clean 16:9 environment background for The Last Horizon: a ruined city approach, black gothic citadel walls and broken towers on the left, collapsed terraces, an empty road through dark stone, distant cloud mountains, storm light opening at the horizon, and pale particles. "Create a cinematic painterly digital illustration for an adventure roleplay scene, dusk storm atmosphere, moody warm-and-cold lighting. Subject: a young skyfarer woman with dark damp hair plastered to a pale face, wearing a worn flight jacket, sits on the cold metal floor of a broken relay chamber with her back against a steel strut, clutching a small glowing lantern with white knuckles, her eyes lifted with relief and worry. Scene: the chamber’s cracked glass dome, webbed with fractures, shows a stormy cloudbank outside where three distant searchlights sweep in a slow repeating arc; at the room’s center a signal heart machine pulses sickly amber; scattered tools and torn cable lie about."
Why Choose Neta Studio
Built by a studio, not a prompt box — Neta Studio carries the whole chain from a scrap-world seed to a finished roleplay: world board, story architecture, character design, sprite mattes and publishing. The models are current and accessible in one place: Claude Opus 5 for structure, GPT Image 2 for painterly art, BiRefNet for clean transparent sprites and DeepSeek V4 Flash for live narration.
One-click generation, no local setup — Every step is an officially tuned skill: build the world, design the cast, generate and cut out the art, then publish a share link. The scene that runs in the browser is the same one you authored on the board, with no render farm, no build pipeline and no code.
Community-first and remixable — Public worlds can be forked, remixed and reimagined. Take Mara’s relay and send it somewhere else, or start from any idea and let the same pipeline produce a cast, a board and a playable story of your own. Free to start, and every finished piece ships with its own link.
