Star Wars Family Tree — The Skywalker, Organa, Solo and Palpatine Lines

The Star Wars family tree, without the guesswork
Star Wars is a story about a family that keeps trying to save itself and keeps arriving too late. Shmi loses her son to the Jedi. Anakin loses Padmé to his own fear. Bail and Breha lose Leia to the Rebellion she was raised to lead. Han loses Ben to a voice in his head. The family tree is not background lore; it is the mechanism that produces every tragedy and every act of grace in the saga.
This archive treats the tree as data, not decoration. Every parent, spouse, sibling, adoption, mentor and loyalty line is a named source-target pair in a file. The four interactive networks draw those pairs; no image model is asked to invent a line. The result is a family tree you can check, filter and argue with — which is the only kind of Star Wars family tree worth building.
The families
The saga is not one tree. It is four separate arguments that share a galaxy. The Skywalkers ask whether blood can be escaped. The Organas ask whether family is the people who raise you. The Solos ask what loyalty costs when it is chosen rather than inherited. The Palpatines ask how a dynasty of manipulation survives its own apprentices. Each network has its own centre, its own cast and its own way of failing.
House of Skywalker
Shmi Skywalker's son is the centre of the saga: a slave child who becomes a Jedi, a husband, a father and then Darth Vader. The network follows the bloodline from Shmi to Anakin, from Anakin and Padmé to Luke and Leia, and from Leia and Han to Ben. Around the bloodline sit the people who raised and trained them: Owen Lars, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka Tano.
This network has eleven characters and eighteen explicit edges. The gold parent lines run from Shmi to Anakin, from Anakin and Padmé to the twins, and from Leia and Han to Ben. The rose spouse line connects Anakin and Padmé. The teal adoption line from Owen to Luke and the purple mentor lines to Anakin, Luke, Rey and Ahsoka show how much of the family was built by choice.

House of Organa
Bail Organa is the senator who takes the infant Leia home to Alderaan and raises her as his own. Breha Organa is the queen who makes her heir. Their house is the moral centre of the Rebellion: a family defined by adoption, public service and the decision to resist Palpatine before resistance was popular.
This network has eight characters and thirteen explicit edges. Two teal adoption lines from Bail and Breha to Leia are the centre. The rose marriage line joins Leia and Han; the gold parent lines run to Ben. The blue loyalty lines connect Bail to Mon Mothma and Leia to the Alliance, and the red rivalry line runs from Bail to Palpatine.

House of Solo
Han Solo is a Corellian smuggler who insists he is only in it for the money and then spends the rest of his life proving otherwise. He wins the Millennium Falcon from Lando, owes a life debt to Chewbacca, learns the underworld from Tobias Beckett, loses Qi'ra to Crimson Dawn and marries Leia Organa. The Solo network is the family he chose and the family he could not keep.
This network has eight characters and fourteen explicit edges. The rose marriage line between Han and Leia and the gold parent lines to Ben are the spine. Around them run blue loyalty lines to Chewbacca, Lando and the Alliance, and red rivalry lines to Dryden Vos and Crimson Dawn. Qi'ra's line is the one that never resolves.

Solo

House of Palpatine
Sheev Palpatine is the trunk of a different tree: a Sith Lord who trains apprentices, wears the Republic like a mask and turns the Skywalker bloodline into his instrument. His master is Darth Plagueis; his apprentices include Darth Maul, Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker; his last project is Ben Solo. The one line he cannot control runs to his granddaughter, Rey.
This network has eight characters and twelve explicit edges. The purple dashed mentor lines run from Plagueis to Sheev, and from Sheev to Maul, Dooku and Anakin. The gold grandparent line reaches Rey. The blue loyalty line to Mas Amedda shows the bureaucratic face of the same project, and the red rivalry lines show how every apprentice eventually turns.

Seven profile cards
The archive includes seven archival profile cards made with the character-profile-card skill: Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Bail Organa, Han Solo, Ben Solo, Qi'ra and Sheev Palpatine. Each card is a one-page dossier with a portrait, role, faction, a four-bar field readout and a three-beat timeline. The cards sit inside their family sections in the hub, not in a separate gallery.
Five design sheets
Five characters also have full design sheets made with the character-design-sheet skill: Anakin, Leia, Bail, Han and Sheev. Each sheet shows a front, side and back view at the same scale, three expression heads, a costume note and a colour palette. They are built for consistency: the same face, the same costume, the same silhouette from every angle.
One family poster
The family poster is made with the character-relationship-poster skill. It shows seven named people exactly once: Sheev Palpatine, Anakin Skywalker, Padmé Amidala, Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo and Ben Solo. Nine correct edges connect them: two marriages, six parent lines and one mentor line. The poster is the one-glance summary; the networks remain the source of truth.

Why a network instead of a poster
A poster is a picture of a family tree. A network is the family tree itself. In the four interactive pages, every edge is a source-target pair with a label and a type. You can filter to the bloodline only, isolate the Sith line, or read the war as it touches each house. The lines cannot drift to the wrong person, which is exactly what happens when an image model is asked to draw a family tree from memory.
The poster still matters, but it has a different job. It is the one-glance summary: seven faces, nine correct edges, a legend that separates bloodline from marriage and mentorship. The networks carry the density; the poster carries the shape. The cards and sheets carry the faces.
Frequently asked questions
Is this canon? The relations follow the nine Skywalker-saga films first. Where a series adds a connection, the archive says so on the character atom. The Legends novel Darth Plagueis is named as Legends, not canon.
Why are there four networks? A single graph with every character becomes unreadable. Four networks keep each argument legible and let you start from the question you actually have: blood, adoption, marriage or manipulation.
Is Rey a Palpatine? Yes. The Rise of Skywalker establishes that Rey is the granddaughter of Palpatine. The archive draws that as a gold grandparent line, and also draws her choice to take the Skywalker name as a chosen-family line.
Are Ben Solo and Kylo Ren the same person? Yes. Ben Solo is the birth name; Kylo Ren is the name he takes under Snoke and the First Order. The Solo network draws him once, with both names on the card.
Why mark show-only and book-only? Because the films do not contain every relation fans cite. Ahsoka's survival, Maul's return and Breha's artificial heart come from series or novels. Labelling them keeps the archive honest instead of pretending all canon is one flat text.
Can I read it on a phone? Yes. The networks are built to be dragged, zoomed and tapped. The hub and the archive page reflow to a single column, and the cards and sheets open full-size in a new tab.
Open the archive
Start with the hub, then open the Skywalker network and click a face. If you want the adoption argument, open Organa. If you want the marriage and the smuggler's code, open Solo. If you want the mentor line that made a Sith, open Palpatine. Every character opens a panel listing every relation as a named pair.
Every layer of this archive was built with four named skills: relationship-network for the four interactive graphs, character-relationship-poster for the family poster, character-profile-card for the seven dossier cards, and character-design-sheet for the five turnarounds.
