Final Product: Too Big For My Robes

An exploration, crafting and survival adventure where every potion makes the apprentice mage bigger — and every outfit only fits up to a height. Grow, explore, brew, fight, and craft the next size before your robes burst.

Too Big For My Robes is a playable, browser-based top-down action-adventure. You are Nettle, an apprentice mage alone in a bioluminescent mushroom valley with a cauldron, a spellbook and a wardrobe that is already too small. Gather ingredients, brew Growth Potions and drink them: you get taller, stronger and heavier — and the world changes with you.

Height is the key to the map. At 2.5m you can smash the boulder into the Craglands; at 4m you wade the bog into the Whisper Fen; at 6.5m you cross the chasm to the Skyreach Ruins; at 10m you topple the Old Wall and stride into Titan’s Rest as a giantess. But some small tunnels only fit the little you — a shrink potion is a tool, not a mistake.

Watch hunger and comfort, rest at campfires, learn the Fire, Frost and Growth tomes, and cast Growth Burst to weaponise your own size — at the seams’ expense. Every outfit fits up to a height: outgrow it and it visibly strains on your model, then bursts. Brew the next size at a cauldron in time. Bring down the Titan Wyrm and claim the Crown of the Last Giant.

Game Features

  • Live LLM Game Design — the whole valley was directed and built live from one sentence: the growth loop, the outfit-fit heights, five gated zones, brewing, player spells, enemy AI, hunger survival and the boss fight, all designed and coded in real time by an AI (deepseek-v4-flash live build). From a seed prompt to a finished browser game.
  • Height-Gated Exploration — five hand-authored zones unlock by getting bigger: smash the boulder into the Craglands at 2.5m, wade the bog into the Whisper Fen at 4m, cross the chasm to the Skyreach Ruins at 6.5m and topple the Old Wall into Titan’s Rest at 10m. Small tunnels stay little-you-only, so size is a choice as well as a power.
  • A Wardrobe Measured in Heights — every outfit has a fit height: Apprentice Robes 2.5m, Traveler’s Garb 4m, Enchanted War-Garb 6.5m, Giant-Kin Attire 12m. Outgrow one and it visibly strains on the character model, then bursts; craft the next tier at a cauldron before you are drafty.
  • Brew, Drink, Grow — gather glowshrooms, moon petals, ironbark, spider silk, starlight thread, sky crystals and wyrm scales, then brew at any cauldron. Growth Potions add real metres (+0.6m) and Greater Growth adds +1.5m, while shrink potions let you fit the tunnels a giantess cannot.
  • Spells, Enemies & a Boss — Spark Bolt is free from the start; find the Fire, Frost and Growth tomes for bigger tricks. Fight slimes, cave bats, thorn sprites and rock golems across the zones, then face the coiled Titan Wyrm in its highland arena.
  • Survival & Browser Play — track HP, MP, hunger and comfort, rest at campfires, gather from respawning nodes, open chests and work through a quest chain that follows your height. Progress saves so you can close the tab and continue later — no download, it runs instantly in the browser.

Character Sprites

Production Process Breakdown

Stage 1: World Buildingdeepseek-v4-flash
From the one-line seed the AI built the world: an exploration, crafting and survival game in which apprentice mage Nettle grows with every potion until she is a giantess, plus the overview, tone, era and the Cel Shading visual style that governs every asset in the valley.
Stage 2: Character & Creature Artgpt-image-2
Nettle’s full sprite set was generated — a base body plus four outfits from Apprentice Robes to Giant-Kin Attire — alongside five enemy types, the Titan Wyrm boss and the props (cauldron, campfire), all clean hard-shadow cel illustrations on plain white backgrounds.
Stage 3: Zones, Items & Key Artgpt-image-2
Five top-down zone maps were painted (Shroomwood, Craglands, Whisper Fen, Skyreach Ruins, Titan’s Rest), plus potion, tome, ingredient and gate-marker icon rows, and the whimsical hero title art of Nettle looking up at her giant self. The 16:9 cover was generated in the same cel-shaded style.
Stage 4: Growth Systems & Game Codedeepseek-v4-flash
The mechanics were coded live: height tiers, per-outfit fit heights with strain-then-burst rendering, brewing recipes, Growth and Shrink potions, spells, enemy AI, gates with height requirements, hunger and comfort survival, campfire rest, quests and a persistent save.
Stage 5: Sprite Cutout & One-Click Publishbirefnet-general
Every sprite was isolated onto transparency with BiRefNet so the characters, enemies and props can be reused for cards and share art, then the build was exercised end to end — growth, gates, crafting, combat and the boss — and published with one click as a shareable browser game.
