Touhou Project: Gensokyo Interactive Map — Gensokyo with 20 Illustrated Locations

What this atlas is
This is not a static image and not a wiki page. It is a single illustrated world map with 20 clickable locations, each drawn as its own scene. Open Gensokyo and you get The sealed Land of Illusions, a pocket world of forgotten gods, youkai and humans held inside the Great Hakurei Barrier. Rivers, fields and forests fit into a single bowl of mountains, and every road eventually leads back to the shrine.
Open Hakurei Border and the view changes completely: The outer seam of the Great Hakurei Barrier, where Gensokyo's illusion rubs against the Outside World. Boundary stones, drifting ofuda and a faint violet curtain mark the line that keeps the land forgotten. The same map holds Hakurei Shrine — A shabby shrine on the eastern hill, home to Reimu Hakurei and the first stop for every incident. The donation box is empty more often than not, and the tea is always ready.
All 20 locations
- Gensokyo The sealed Land of Illusions, a pocket world of forgotten gods, youkai and humans held inside the Great Hakurei Barrier. Rivers, fields and forests fit into a single bowl of mountains, and every road eventually leads back to the shrine.
- Hakurei Border The outer seam of the Great Hakurei Barrier, where Gensokyo's illusion rubs against the Outside World. Boundary stones, drifting ofuda and a faint violet curtain mark the line that keeps the land forgotten.
- Hakurei Shrine A shabby shrine on the eastern hill, home to Reimu Hakurei and the first stop for every incident. The donation box is empty more often than not, and the tea is always ready.
- Human Village Gensokyo's human heart: a market town of tiled roofs, vegetable plots and a schoolhouse, where ordinary people live carefully beside a world of youkai. At dusk the shutters close early.
- Kourindou Rinnosuke Morichika's antique shop on the seam between the village and the Forest of Magic. Shelves of Outside World junk, broken clocks and one very patient shopkeeper.
- Forest of Magic A dark, rumor-thick wood where magicians live precisely because nobody sensible visits. Mushrooms glow, paths rearrange themselves, and a broom trail usually means Marisa passed through.
- Myouren Temple Byakuren Hijiri's youkai-friendly temple near the village, once a flying Palanquin Ship. The hall is open to humans and youkai alike, though the congregation is mostly the latter.
- Myouren Temple Cemetery The old graveyard behind Myouren Temple, where stone stupas lean and red spider lilies mark the path. It is also the road down toward the Hall of Dreams' Great Mausoleum.
- Hall of Dreams' Great Mausoleum The underground mausoleum beneath the temple where Toyosatomimi no Miko slept sealed. Bronze doors, painted pillars and a silence that feels like it is listening.
- Garden of the Sun Yuuka Kazami's sunflower country behind the mountain: bright, hot and beautiful, with a gardener who does not welcome visitors. The flowers turn their heads as you pass.
- Nameless Hill A hillside of white lily-of-the-valley where abandoned children were once left. Now it is Medicine Melancholy's poison meadow, sweet-smelling and quietly dangerous.
- Mayohiga A stray-house village on the boundary, where the lost arrive when they wander too far toward another world. The houses are always empty, yet a kettle sometimes sings.
- Spring Path A cherry-petal lane linking the lake country to the Forest of Magic, where spring seems to arrive a week early. Petals lie thick enough to muffle footsteps.
- Mysterious Cherry Blossom Path A cherry-lined road used for spring duels and extra-stage quarrels. The blossoms never quite fall in the same pattern twice, and a patch of ice can linger in summer.
- Poltergeist Mansion The Prismriver Sisters' noisy mansion, an Outside World aristocratic house that slipped into Gensokyo whole. Piano music leaks from broken shutters at any hour.
- Rainbow Dragon Cave A deceptively long, thin-aired cave mine where dreams crystallise in rainbow colours. Miners' carts still stand on the rails, and the deepest gallery glows like a held breath.
- Misty Lake A mist-veiled lake at the foot of Youkai Mountain, playground of fairies and moat of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. The island shrine disappears whenever the fog thickens.
- Scarlet Devil Mansion The Scarlet family's European mansion on Misty Lake: vampires, a chief maid, a library that keeps growing, and more rooms than the outside walls admit.
- Mugenkan Mansion of Fantasies beneath the Lake of Blood, a boundary house between Gensokyo and dream. Its corridors are longer inside than out, and the garden grows flowers that have no names.
- Lake of Blood A still crimson lake behind the Hakurei Shrine, old gateway water toward Mugenkan and the dream border. The surface holds the moon without a ripple.
How to explore it
Pan the map
Drag the atlas, or scroll to zoom. The whole world is one surface.
Open a location
Click any marker. The detail view is a full illustrated scene, not a thumbnail.
Read the points of interest
Each place has three of its own. Click one for its name and what happened there.

Three languages, one map
The atlas ships with an English, Simplified Chinese and Japanese interface. Switching language changes the marker labels, location titles and intros, all sixty point-of-interest names and descriptions, and the controls. The choice is remembered on the next visit.
What makes it different
- Illustrated, not traced. Each of the 20 locations is a painted miniature with its own palette and silhouette, then cut out and placed on the chart.
- Detail views that are places. The detail screen is a full 16:9 scene with three internal points of interest, not an enlarged icon.
- Built for phones.Markers stay tappable, labels reflow, and the detail copy moves out of the way on small screens.
- No install, no account. It is a web page. Open the link and the map is there.
Questions
- Is it canon? The locations and descriptions follow Touhou Project: Gensokyo. The art is an original painted interpretation, not a screenshot or an official map.
- How many places are there? 20 locations, each with three points of interest — 60 in total.
- Does it work offline? The first load needs a connection. After that the page is light: one base map, twenty cutouts and twenty detail images.
- Can I use it on a phone? Yes. The map and detail views are responsive, and the language switch stays reachable without opening a menu.
