Final Video: WUKONG — Background Motion

WUKONG — Background Motion is a six-second environment plate for a layered sky-gate scene: a weathered stone gate stands on a rock shelf above a rolling sea of clouds while dawn breaks behind the peaks. The camera is locked; only the weather moves. Cloud banks roll, the sun climbs, and thin wisps stream past the gate — a living backdrop that can sit behind a character, title or UI without a single camera move.

The plate is one half of a two-layer system. The Monkey King is not baked into the background: he is generated on a separate flat-grey plate, cut out with ISNet, and animated in his own companion loop. That keeps the sky gate reusable and lets the character be swapped, scaled or re-timed independently.

The Video

6.08 seconds · 834 × 1112 portrait · 24 fps · fixed camera · one image-to-video pass from the sky-gate plate — rendered with Seedance 2.0 Fast. The brief is atmospheric, not narrative: cloud banks roll, the dawn light strengthens behind the ridge, and thin wisps stream past the gate. No camera move, no zoom, no cut.

How It Was Made

Production Process Breakdown

Stage 1: The Sky-Gate PlateGPT Image 2
The background is painted first at 848 × 1264, with the composition already built for a foreground actor. A weathered stone gate sits on a rock shelf at centre-right, snow-capped peaks break through a deep cloud sea, and the sun is placed just above the far ridge. Cracked flagstones, a wooden stair rail and mossy rock edges give the plate scale; the empty path in front of the gate is deliberate negative space for a character.
Stage 2: The Wukong Subject PlateGPT Image 2
Wukong is generated on a separate 848 × 1264 flat-grey plate: ornate gold armour, a red-brown fur cloak, the staff overhead trailing a ribbon of fire, amber eyes. The flat background is part of the brief — it keeps the cloak edge and the thin fire ribbons readable when the plate is keyed, instead of clipping them against a bright sky.
Stage 3: Layer SeparationISNet General
ISNet General returns a 686 × 1024 transparent PNG. The cutout holds the staff, the curved fire ribbons, the frayed cloak and the fingertips; the grey plate disappears without a halo. That clean edge is what lets the character sit over a warm, high-contrast sunrise later.
Stage 4: The Background Motion PassSeedance 2.0 Fast
The sky-gate plate goes through a single image-to-video pass with a fixed-camera brief. The cloud sea rolls slowly, the dawn light strengthens over the peaks, and wisps stream past the gate. The output is 6.08 seconds at 834 × 1112 and 24 fps, with an AAC audio bed generated alongside the clip.
Stage 5: The Second PassSeedance 2.0 Fast
Two passes exist in the project. The earlier 2.6 MB render is close, but the sun break is softer and the cloud layers read as one mass. The final 2.9 MB pass pushes the sunrise, separates the mid-ground cloud bank from the foreground shelf and keeps the gate silhouette crisp. Same camera, same framing, same prompt intent.
Stage 6: Composite and Key ArtISNet GeneralGPT Image 2
The cutout is composited over the plate to check scale, contrast and eyeline, then a separate 2048 × 1152 cover is generated: the same gate, cloud sea and sunrise rebuilt as key art with Wukong landing in front and the WUKONG title in the sky. The result is a reusable sky-gate system — background plate, subject plate, cutout, background loop, subject loop and cover.

Generation Prompt

The full prompt behind the six-second render. One 848 × 1264 still is passed in as the source frame; the motion behaviour and the hard no-camera-move rule are authored here.

Video prompt (verbatim):

Fixed camera, no camera movement. The sea of clouds rolls slowly, the dawn light strengthens over the peaks, wisps of cloud stream past the gate. Cinematic painterly storm, no text, no watermark

There is no character direction in this prompt on purpose. If Wukong were described here, the model would try to animate him inside the plate and the layer separation would be lost. The Monkey King is handled by a separate image and a separate motion pass.

Asset Prompts

Background Plate — Sky Gate at DawnGPT Image 2
A weathered stone gate on a rock shelf above an endless sea of clouds at sunrise, jagged snow-capped peaks breaking through the cloud ocean, warm gold dawn light behind the far ridge, cracked flagstone path, wooden stair rail, moss and lichen on the rocks, open foreground space for a character, painterly digital illustration, epic scale, visible brushwork, no characters, no text, no watermark
Subject Plate — Sun WukongGPT Image 2
Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, in ornate gold armour with a long red-brown fur cloak, landing in a dynamic crouch, golden staff raised overhead with a blazing ribbon of fire, glowing amber eyes, full body, isolated on a plain flat light-grey background, painterly digital illustration, dramatic gold rim light, visible brushwork, no text, no watermark, no border
Companion Motion — Subject LoopSeedance 2.0 Fast
Fixed camera, absolutely no camera movement, no zoom, no crop change. Wukong keeps exactly the same pose, position and scale. The cloak and fur ripple in the wind, the fire ribbon crackles and trails, the staff glints, he breathes and holds the crouch. Same plain flat light-grey background, same framing, same lighting, same composition. Cinematic painterly, no text, no watermark
Cover Key Art — Wukong, 16:9GPT Image 2
One Piece — The Grand Line Atlas AI video key art, 16:9 widescreen cinematic cover. OP-01 Modern Grand Adventure Painterly: modern prestige adventure painterly, bold silhouettes, dynamic sea-light, clean anime heritage, rich material rendering, graphic readability and epic scale. A weathered stone torii gate stands on a rock shelf at the edge of a vast rolling sea of clouds at sunrise; jagged snow-capped peaks rise through the cloud ocean, warm gold dawn light breaking behind them. On the cracked stone path before the gate, Sun Wukong — the Monkey King — lands in a dynamic crouch, ornate golden armor, long red-brown fur cloak, golden staff trailing a blazing arc of fire, glowing amber eyes. Thin cloud wisps stream past the gate. Cinematic wide composition, large elegant gold title text 'WUKONG' integrated into the upper sky, smaller subtitle 'SKY GATE — BACKGROUND LOOP' below it, clean readable typography, no other text, no watermark, no logos.

Why Choose Neta Studio

One plate, one subject, reusable layers — background plate, subject plate, cutout, background loop, subject loop and cover are produced as separate assets. Swap the character, restyle the weather or reuse the sky gate behind a different scene without starting over. GPT Image 2 Seedance 2.0 Fast ISNet General.

Fixed-camera motion direction — the prompt locks the camera and lists only the moving parts: rolling cloud, strengthening dawn, streaming wisps. That is why the plate can loop behind UI, titles or a foreground character without a visible jump.

Clean transparent assets — ISNet General keeps the thin fire ribbons and the frayed cloak edge, returning a PNG that drops straight into a scene, a card frame or a video composite.

Two-pass iteration in one workspace — compare the earlier 2.6 MB render against the final 2.9 MB pass, then keep the stronger sunrise without leaving the project.

World to publish in one place — build the world, generate the plates, cut out the sprite, animate the loop and publish a shareable page. No local render farm, no coding, free to start.

This six-second sky-gate loop was generated in Neta Studio from one painterly plate, then paired with a separate Wukong subject loop and a transparent cutout. You can do it too — build a layered scene, animate each plate, and publish the page. No coding required, free to start.
