Demon Slayer Quiz: 12 Questions From the Corps

Demon Slayer Quiz: 12 Questions From the Corps

A Demon Slayer quiz built only on what the manga establishes: wisteria, breathing styles, the nine Hashira and the Twelve Kizuki. Answers included.

What a Demon Slayer quiz should ask

Most Demon Slayer quizzes ask for a birthday or the colour of a haori, which tests whether you have scrolled a wiki rather than whether you read the thing. The manga is unusually generous with rules: demons burn in sunlight, wisteria poisons them, a Nichirin blade changes colour for its owner, and a Breathing Style is a set of sword forms built on total concentration breathing. A quiz that ignores the rules has nothing to be right or wrong about.

So this one is twelve questions with one correct answer each, drawn from what the manga actually states — the Kamado family, the Corps, the nine Hashira, the Twelve Kizuki and the last arc. Answers sit under every question, so you can check yourself instead of trusting a comment section. It is a reading quiz, not a personality quiz, and it does contain spoilers up to the Swordsmith Village arc.

Play the night the quiz keeps pointing at

Final Selection is the cleanest scene in the series to play: one mountain, seven nights, no Hashira coming to help. The roleplay skill builds the exam around your character and keeps the count of nights.

✦Roleplay
Use the roleplay skill to open a Demon Slayer scene on the mountain during e.g. the fourth night of Final Selection — with the rules of the Corps enforced by the scene, not by a menu.

Why these questions are shaped like this

A trivia question is a small piece of criticism: it decides what in a story is worth remembering. These twelve are written to four rules, which is why they feel different from a random quiz pulled off a fan forum.

  • Canon only — Every answer is stated in the manga or on its wiki page. Nothing here comes from an anime-only scene, a game, or a popular fan theory.
  • One answer, no arguments — No “which Hashira is strongest” — that is a debate, not a question. Each of the twelve has a single checkable answer.
  • Rules before trivia — Half the quiz is about how the world works: sunlight, wisteria, breathing styles, ranks. Get the rules and the plot questions answer themselves.
  • Answers on the page — You should be able to mark your own paper without opening six tabs. Every answer is one line, with the detail that makes it true.

The twelve questions

1. Who turned Nezuko into a demon?
Muzan Kibutsuji. His attack on the Kamado family left Tanjiro’s mother and younger siblings dead and Nezuko transformed into a demon — and he is the progenitor of every demon in the series.

2. Who gave Nezuko the bamboo muzzle?
Giyu Tomioka, on the night he found the two siblings on the mountain — not Tanjiro. It is the first sign that a Hashira has already broken Corps procedure for them.

3. Where did the mark on Tanjiro's forehead come from?
A burn from a hot brazier, taken while shielding a younger sibling as a child. It darkened into a jagged mark after the Hand Demon at Final Selection.

4. How did Muzan become the first demon?
An experimental treatment for a terminal illness. The manga is explicit that the Demon King was a patient before he was a monster.

5. How many Hashira are there at the start of the series?
Nine — the same number of strokes in the character used to write the rank.

6. Which Hashira fights with wisteria poison instead of a beheading?
Shinobu Kocho. She cannot cut a demon's head off, so she built a modified katana that injects poison made from wisteria, which is lethal to demons.

7. Why does Zenitsu fight better asleep?
Fear. Awake, his nerves get in the way of his own technique; unconscious, his body executes Thunder Breathing without interference.

8. Who taught Inosuke Beast Breathing?
Nobody. It is self-taught, built from the way boars and other mountain animals moved around him while he was growing up.

9. Which Hashira dies fighting Akaza?
Kyojuro Rengoku, of Flame Breathing. He loses an eye, keeps fighting, and spends his last words on his brother and his students.

10. What is the dance Tanjiro learned from his father?
Hinokami Kagura — a breathing style passed down as a family dance, which turns out to be the same line as the first Breathing Style ever created.

11. Who leads the Twelve Kizuki?
Muzan. The Upper and Lower Moons are ranked under him, and he is the one who decides what their ranks are worth.

12. When does Nezuko become immune to sunlight?
During the fight with Hantengu, late in the story. It is exactly the outcome Muzan had been making demons to find — a demon who could stand in the sun — and it arrived in the sister he left alive.

The real subject is mercy

Read the questions again and notice how many are about restraint. Tanjiro will not belittle a demon that regrets what it did, because demons were human once and because he was nearly one himself. Shinobu, who cannot behead a demon, spends years turning a flower into a weapon and then uses it to end one specific person. Rengoku, dying, uses his last air on his little brother. The series is a shonen fight manga with an unusually strict ethic about who is allowed to be killed and how — and the trivia only matters because that ethic is consistent enough to test.

Play the parts the quiz is about

The stories below are built the same way this quiz is: from the rules. They are playable in the browser, they keep your choices, and each one starts where a canon scene leaves a door open rather than retelling the scene.

Start with the exam itself

Final Selection: Night of Wisteria takes the one night the quiz keeps circling and makes it playable: Final Selection, seven nights on a mountain full of demons, with a wisteria boundary you cannot cross until the week is over. The scene enforces the rules — sunlight, the sword, the count of nights — which is the closest thing to sitting the exam without dying in it.

Then walk the country it happens in

Demon Slayer Interactive Map is the same story as geography: twenty illustrated locations across Taisho-era Japan, from the Kamado house on the mountain to Asakusa and the wisteria houses in between. Useful if you want to place a scene somewhere specific instead of “a forest at night”.

How to turn this into a round

1

Pick a difficulty, not a length

Run questions 1–4 as an easy round, 5–8 as the manga-reader round, and 9–12 as the arc round. Twelve at once is a test; four at a time is a game.

2

Make the answers worth a point each, not half

Partial credit is how trivia dies. One answer, one point — and read the answer line out loud after each question, because the detail is the reason the question exists.

3

End on a scene, not a score

Finish by opening Final Selection or the map and letting the group pick a location. A quiz that ends in a scoreboard is forgotten; one that ends in a scene is not.

Twelve answers is not the same as reading it

If you got nine or better, the next step is not another quiz — it is a scene that lets you be wrong. The roleplay hub runs Demon Slayer stories with characters who keep their history, and you can fork any of them into your own.

Built with the roleplay skill

roleplay builds the character, the place and the memory of the scene, then writes the next beat in the character’s voice. world-builder is what turns a quiz answer into a place: twenty locations, a map, and the rules that hold them together. Neither one reproduces official art — the scenes and covers here are original.

Demon Slayer quiz FAQ

Is this quiz canon-only?
Yes. Every answer is stated in the manga or its wiki entry — no anime-only scenes, no games, no fan theory. Where a detail is disputed by fans, the question is not asked.

How far does it spoil?
Up to the Swordsmith Village arc: Nezuko’s sunlight immunity and the origin of Hinokami Kagura are both in there. If you are mid-first-read, stop at question ten.

Are the answers on the page?
Yes, under each question, with the one detail that makes the answer true. That is deliberate — the point is to check yourself, not to score a comment thread.

Is this an official Demon Slayer product?
No. This is a fan-made quiz on Neta Studio; it is not affiliated with the rights holders, and none of the art on this page reproduces official artwork.

Can I play Demon Slayer instead of answering questions?
Yes — Final Selection: Night of Wisteria is a playable action visual novel on the same setting, and the interactive map covers twenty locations from the story. Both are linked above.

Why twelve questions and not fifty?
Because twelve is a round. Past that it stops being a game and becomes a wiki with a score attached. The four rules behind the questions are listed above if you want to write more.
