Blue Lock Quiz: 12 Questions About the Programme

Blue Lock Quiz: 12 Questions About the Programme

A Blue Lock quiz that tests the rules rather than the trivia: the 2018 World Cup exit, 300 strikers, Ego’s project and the shirts they wear. Sourced answers.

A Blue Lock quiz should be about the rules

Blue Lock is a sports manga, but its real subject is selection: who gets kept, who gets cut, and what a coach is willing to say out loud to make a teenager shoot instead of pass. That means the interesting questions are not “what is Isagi’s birthday” — they are about the terms of the experiment. How many players. Who paid for it. What the man running it claims to be destroying. What number a character wears, because in this series the number is the argument.

These twelve questions stay inside the manga and its own material: the synopsis, the character entries, the Egoist Bible profiles the wiki cites. There is no power-scaling, no “who wins” debate, and no anime-only filler. Every answer is written under its question so the quiz checks knowledge instead of starting a comment war.

Blue Lock is a series about being locked in a building with 299 rivals. The roleplay skill opens a scene in that building — a ranking board, a coach who does not care how you feel, and one match to prove something.

✦Roleplay
Use the roleplay skill to open a Blue Lock scene set at e.g. the first night in the dormitory — and the ranking has to be earned in dialogue.

Why the questions are shaped this way

Three rules, and they are the reason this reads more like a briefing than a trivia sheet.

  • Numbers over opinions — 300 players, 11 on a shirt, two names at #1. In a series about selection, the numbers are the plot.
  • Characters defined by their function — Ego is the director, Anri is the one who sold the idea, Isagi is the exception to the scouting rule. Ask what someone does, not what they look like.
  • No filler, no films — If the manga does not state it, it is not a question here. Anime-only scenes are excluded on purpose.
  • Spoilers declared — The page tells you how far it goes before question one, instead of surprising you at question nine.

The twelve questions

1. What event starts the whole story?
Japan’s elimination from the 2018 FIFA World Cup. That defeat is what pushes the Japanese Football Union to fund a scouting programme aimed at the 2022 Cup.

2. Who runs the programme, and who picked him?
Jinpachi Ego is the general director of the Blue Lock Project — handpicked by Anri Teieri, the JFU recruit who proposed the plan in the first place.

3. How many players are isolated, and where?
300 young forwards, locked into a prison-like facility called Blue Lock, trained to produce “the world’s greatest egotist striker”.

4. What does Ego say he is destroying?
Japanese “loser football” — his words. The project is an argument against passing-first football, not just a training camp.

5. Which high school did Isagi play for?
Ichinan High School in Saitama. He was a second-year forward there before the invitation arrived.

6. How did Isagi get into Blue Lock?
Ego chose him personally after watching him play. The other contenders were scouted by Anri Teieri; Isagi is the exception.

7. What number does Isagi wear at Blue Lock?
Number 11 — on Team Z’s blue jersey, then Team White’s 15, then the official Blue Lock kit with the 11 again.

8. What is Bachira’s game built on?
Instinct. He plays by feel rather than calculation, and his stated goal is to find rivals who also have a “monster” inside them.

9. Who is Rin Itoshi’s brother, and what does that cost him?
Sae Itoshi, the elder brother he grew up admiring. Rin’s drive to be the world’s best striker is built on that comparison.

10. Which two players share the #1 ranking after Blue Lock?
Isagi and Rin — level at the top of the programme when the Neo Egoist League ends.

11. Who is the protagonist of the spin-off Episode Nagi?
Seishiro Nagi, who starts in Team V and treats football as a chore until his talent stops being enough on its own.

12. What is Anri Teieri’s actual job inside the project?
She is the one who sells the plan to the JFU, then works as facility manager and assistant coach — the person between the boardroom and the pitch.

The real subject is a system, not a hero

Read the answers in a column and a shape appears: an institution decides that the national team is a failure, hires one extremist to fix it, isolates three hundred teenagers, and measures them until ninety-nine percent are gone. Isagi is the protagonist, but the antagonist is the selection process itself — Ego’s stated goal is to destroy a style of play, and every character is a test case for whether that destruction works. That is why the quiz keeps asking about roles and numbers: in Blue Lock, a character is what the system has made of them so far.

Stories with the same pressure

None of these are Blue Lock, and none of them pretend to be. They are browser stories on Neta Studio built on the same engine — an exam, a ranking, a team that has to hold, and a choice that stays made.

An exam with a body count

Final Selection: Night of Wisteria is the cleanest comparison in the catalogue: one mountain, seven nights, and a rule that decides who comes down. U.S.J. Incident puts a class inside a facility that is suddenly not safe — the same lesson Blue Lock teaches, delivered in one afternoon instead of a season.

And the room where the ranking is decided

Toman Meeting is a meeting where hierarchy is the entire scene, which is what every Blue Lock dormitory conversation is. Naruto vs Sasuke: Duel takes the other half of the series — two people who were teammates first — and makes the rematch playable instead of scripted.

How to run it as a round

1

Two halves, six questions each

Questions 1–6 are the programme (who funded it, who runs it, how many players). 7–12 are the people (numbers, instincts, brothers). Six at a time keeps a group arguing without losing them.

2

Read the second sentence aloud

Every answer has a consequence attached. “Ego chose Isagi personally” matters because every other contender was scouted by Anri; that is the fact people forget.

3

Finish in a scene, not a score

Close on the selection board or the last five minutes of a 3-v-3. A quiz that ends in a scoreboard is forgotten by the next day.

Knowing the rules is not the same as surviving them

Twelve correct answers is a good score. The roleplay hub is where the ranking actually moves, and where a scene can end with you cut from the squad.

Built with the roleplay skill

roleplay keeps the scene and the cast honest from turn to turn, and remembers which player you already beat; character-sheet writes the striker, their weapon and their number before the first whistle. Blue Lock quiz FAQ

Is this quiz manga-only?
Yes. The synopsis and character entries of the manga, including the Egoist Bible profiles the wiki cites. No anime-only scenes, films or games.

How far does it spoil?
Through the Neo Egoist League: the #1 ranking, Nagi’s expulsion and the Japan U-20 squad are all on the page.

Are the answers on the page?
Every question has its answer underneath, with the detail that makes it checkable. The point is to find the one you half-remember.

Who created Blue Lock?
Written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, serialised in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. The Episode Nagi spin-off began in June 2022.

Is this an official Blue Lock product?
No. It is a fan-made quiz on Neta Studio, unaffiliated with the rights holders, and the images are original illustrations rather than official art.

Can I play Blue Lock stories instead?
There is no Blue Lock game on the site. What exists is the roleplay hub, where you can open a selection-style scene of your own, and the works listed above, which run on the same engine.
