Genshin OC Generator: Build One Teyvat Would Keep

Genshin OC Generator: Build One Teyvat Would Keep

Design a Genshin-style OC that follows the rules: a nation, one of seven elements, the desire that earns a Vision, and a silhouette that reads at card size.

A Teyvat OC has rules, and the rules are the fun

An original character in the Genshin style is not a fantasy costume with a glowing gem. Teyvat is a world with a fixed geography and a fixed metaphysical system: seven nations, seven elements, seven Archons, and a Vision that is granted — not inherited — to someone whose desire is strong enough to be noticed. Follow those constraints and your OC reads as canon-adjacent. Ignore them, and you get a character who looks like they wandered in from a different game.

So the order matters: nation first, because it decides architecture, clothing, palette and manners. Element second, because it decides what the character does in a fight and how they are drawn when they do it. The Vision story third — because a Vision is the world’s way of saying this person wanted something too much. Weapon and role last, and only after the first three are settled. Everything below is that order, plus the honest note that there is no button on Neta labelled “Genshin OC generator”: there are portrait, sheet and card tools, and there is this method.

Start from the nation, not the outfit

Name the place, the element and the thing they want too much. The character-sheet skill builds the figure, the palette and the three-view sheet, so the OC survives being drawn again.

✦Character Sheet
Use the character-sheet skill to design a Teyvat OC from e.g. a Snezhnayan cartographer with a Cryo Vision — and the Vision story goes at the top of the sheet.

The four decisions, in order

Do them out of order and the character reads as a costume. Do them in order and the design argues for itself.

  • Nation — Mondstadt (wind, song, a city on a lake), Liyue (stone, contracts, harbour), Inazuma (islands, storms, a closed country), Sumeru (desert and rainforest, scholarship), Fontaine (water, courts, machinery), Natlan (volcano, tribes, sport), Snezhnaya (snow, industry, a bureaucracy). The nation decides the coat.
  • Element — One of the seven — Anemo, Cryo, Dendro, Electro, Geo, Hydro, Pyro — and it should contradict the nation slightly. A Pyro character in Snezhnaya is a story; a Cryo character in Snezhnaya is a postcard.
  • The desire — Visions are given to people whose ambition is strong enough to be noticed, so write the want before the weapon. “Wants to be forgiven” produces a better kit than “uses a sword”.
  • Silhouette and role — Front, side, back, and one prop that reads at thumbnail size. Support, damage or defence is a design constraint, not a personality — decide it last and let the earlier three decide which one fits.

What the canon actually says about Visions

The wiki is precise: Visions are jewelled amulets that let their bearer channel one of the seven elements, bestowed by Celestia and the Seven Archons on allogenes — people of Teyvat with particularly powerful desires and the potential to ascend to Celestia and become gods themselves. There is a darker corollary stated in the same entry: evidence suggests a person deprived of their Vision also loses that ambition, which may change their personality entirely. That single rule is the best character engine in the setting, and almost nobody uses it.

It also gives you a legitimate way to make an OC feel canon-consistent without inventing lore. Instead of giving your character a secret eighth element or a lost Archon parent, take the existing rule and apply it to a person: someone who wanted something so badly that a gem appeared, and who is now quietly terrified of what happens if it is taken away. That is a character. A second Vision, a new element or a stolen Gnosis is a fan-fiction escalation that will make readers bounce.

One more constraint worth respecting: the seven nations each have their own human governing body alongside their Archon — the Knights of Favonius in Mondstadt, the Qixing in Liyue, the Shogunate in Inazuma, the Akademiya in Sumeru, the Palais Mermonia in Fontaine. If your OC has a job, put them inside one of those institutions. A character with an employer has a reason to be somewhere, and a reason to be somewhere is what a scene needs. Khaenri’ah, the nation that existed outside the gods’ authority, is the standard exception — and it is crowded already.

The Vision is a personality test

If you only take one idea from this page, take this: the element should be an argument about the character, not a colour scheme. A Geo character is not “the one with rocks”, they are the one who builds something and refuses to move; a Hydro character is the one who adapts and cannot hold a shape. That gives you a fighting style, a flaw and a line of dialogue before you have drawn anything — and it is why the order above puts the desire before the weapon. Once the element is an argument, the sheet stops being a costume and starts being a character.

Sheets and packs you can open

These are real generated works on Neta Studio, not mock-ups. Between them they show the whole chain an OC needs: the three-view sheet, the card, the expression set, the cutout.

The sheet and the entry

Character Design Sheet / Turnaround Views is the turnaround that decides whether the design survives a second angle — the first thing to break on a fan OC. Character Profile Card — Evelyn Nocturne is the entry that goes with it: name, role, one line of history, in the register an in-game archive would use.

And the proof of consistency

MS Paint Sticker Pack: 16 Expressions is sixteen expressions of one face, which is where most OCs fall apart: the same person has to be able to be annoyed and amused. Desktop Mascot: Zero takes the design out of the portrait entirely — a cutout, a 16:9 pack, a transparent export.

From blank page to a sheet

1

Write the sentence, not the stats

“A Snezhnayan cartographer who maps borders that no longer exist” is already a nation, a job and a wound. Stats can wait.

2

Assign the element as a contradiction

Pick the element that argues with the nation or the job. Then write one line about how they use it badly, because a flaw is what makes a kit readable.

3

Generate the sheet, then cut it down

Ask for front, side and back first. Anything that does not read in the back view is decoration — remove it before you fall in love with it.

A design is not a voice

The sheet gets people to look. If you want the OC to answer a question — with the manners of their nation and the flaw their Vision gave them — the roleplay hub is where they start talking.

Built with the character-sheet skill

character-sheet writes the nation, the Vision story, the flaw and the three-view design together so they agree; roleplay is where the OC answers in character. The art side runs on the portrait pipeline described in the anime avatar and portrait maker. This is a fan-design method: no official Genshin artwork, logo or in-game asset is reproduced, and nothing here is affiliated with the rights holders.

Genshin OC generator FAQ

Does Teyvat have more than seven elements?
No. Anemo, Cryo, Dendro, Electro, Geo, Hydro and Pyro — one per nation, each tied to that nation’s Archon and landscape. An eighth element is the fastest way to make an OC read as non-canon.

How does someone get a Vision?
Visions are bestowed by Celestia and the Seven Archons on allogenes: people with particularly powerful desires, who have the potential to ascend. It is granted, not inherited and not bought.

Which nation should my OC come from?
The one whose landscape you can describe in one sentence. Nation decides clothing, architecture and manners, so it has to be decided before the outfit.

Can I make a Khaenri’ah character?
You can. It is the nation that existed outside the gods’ authority, and it is the most crowded corner of the fandom — expect to compete with a lot of existing OCs.

Is there an official Genshin character creator?
No, and there is no Genshin-specific generator on Neta either. This page is a design method plus the character-sheet, portrait and card tools.

Is this official or affiliated?
No. It is a fan-made design guide on Neta Studio. No official artwork, logo or in-game asset is used, and the illustrations are original.
