Chainsaw Man Quiz: 12 Questions From the Manga

A Chainsaw Man quiz on the things the manga actually establishes: Denji’s contract, Makima’s real name, the hybrids and the deaths. Answers sourced, no filler.

What a Chainsaw Man quiz should ask
The series is famous for two things: a chainsaw and a body count. A quiz that only asks who died misses the point, because everyone dies and the interesting part is what the death was for. The questions worth asking are about contracts, names and the way the manga uses bureaucracy as horror — Makima is scarier in a meeting than she is in a fight, and that is a fact you can test.
So this page works like the One Piece quiz next door: twelve questions, each answerable from a character page or a chapter, each answer pointing at where it came from. Start at the top. If you get the first six, you watched the anime. If you get all twelve, you were reading the panels where nobody is fighting.
| What it is | Twelve sourced questions on the manga |
| Hard part | Names, contracts and hybrids, not deaths |
| Source | Manga chapters and the Chainsaw Man wiki |
| Spoiler level | Everything, including the ending of part one |
Then walk into the office
Public Safety is hiring in the roleplay hub: a supervisor with a calm voice, a partner who eats first, and a corridor that is longer on the way out. The roleplay skill keeps what you said last time, which in this world is a threat and a promise.
Why these questions are shaped like this
A good trivia question is a small piece of criticism. These are built on four rules, and they are also the rules to use if you write your own round.
- Ask about a decision, not a design — What colour is the chainsaw is a merchandise question. What did Denji trade for it is the story.
- Let the wrong answer be plausible — Nayuta, Reze and Power are all names a reader half-remembers. The quiz should reward the reader who kept them apart.
- Quote the source — A chapter number or a character page. An answer nobody can check is just a confident sentence.
- Do not sand off the cruelty — The series is nasty on purpose. A quiz that softens the Gun Fiend into “a sad moment” is not describing the manga.
- Say when canon is silent — Some questions do not have published answers. Saying so is more accurate than inventing one.
The twelve questions
- What is Denji’s heart, literally?
Show the answer
Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, who made a contract with him and became his heart. That is why pulling the cord works. — Pochita page - What is Makima, underneath the job title?
Show the answer
The Control Devil — also called the Conquest Devil or the Devil of Domination. Public Safety’s most polite employee is the thing they are hunting. — Makima page - Who is the Blood Fiend on Denji’s team?
Show the answer
Power, a fiend who works as a Public Safety Devil Hunter and treats every rule as a suggestion. — Power page - What happens to Aki Hayakawa?
Show the answer
He becomes the Gun Fiend — the hunter turned into exactly what he spent the series hunting. It is the cruellest joke in the manga. — Aki page - Which organisation employs Denji at the start?
Show the answer
The Public Safety Devil Hunters, in Tokyo Special Division 4, under Makima’s supervision. — Denji page - Who is Makima reincarnated as?
Show the answer
Nayuta, the new Control Devil. Death in this series is a change of address, not an ending. — Nayuta page - How old is Denji at the beginning?
Show the answer
Sixteen, living on yakuza debt, selling a kidney’s worth of himself for pocket money. — Denji page - What does Denji want more than anything?
Show the answer
A normal life: bread with jam, a warm bed, someone to wake up next to. The whole tragedy is that he asks for almost nothing. — Chapter 1 - What is the Bomb Devil’s human name?
Show the answer
Reze — a hybrid, a date that goes badly, and the character who teaches Denji that affection can be a tactic. — Reze page - What does the Katana Man have in common with Denji?
Show the answer
He is a hybrid too: a human fused with a devil, which makes him the mirror Denji keeps running into. — Katana Man page - What is the Chainsaw Devil’s other name?
Show the answer
The Hero of Hell. Devils in this world are named by what they do, and that one is named for what humans hope for. — Pochita page - Is anyone in Public Safety actually safe?
Show the answer
No. The series kills its own cast on schedule, and the quiz answer is that the institution was never a shelter. — Series-wide
Twelve questions drawn from the manga and from character pages on the Chainsaw Man wiki. Where the manga leaves something open, the answer says so instead of guessing.
The real subject is employment
Read the questions again and notice how many are about work: who employs Denji, who supervises him, who signs the contract, what happens when the contract ends. Chainsaw Man is a story about a boy who is grateful for a job, and the horror is that the job is the most affection anyone has ever shown him. That is why the quiz keeps returning to Public Safety and never to power levels. If you can answer the employment questions, you understood the manga better than someone who can list every devil.

Play the parts the quiz is about
The worlds below keep the same tonal rule: ordinary rooms, ordinary jobs, something wrong underneath. Each one is a place you can walk into rather than a summary you read.

Start with the first night
First Night Under Makima is the closest thing here to the manga’s opening: a new hire, a supervisor, and an offer that is really a test. Makima’s Office takes the same cast and makes the paperwork the monster.
The same dread, one era over
Death Note: First Judgment runs on the same engine — a teenager with an impossible power and a system that notices — and it is a useful contrast, because Light is never grateful and Denji always is. For a different kind of cast list, the Jujutsu Kaisen portal shows how an archive can hold techniques, factions and people at once.
How to turn this into a round
Run it cold, no wiki
Twelve questions, answers hidden. Read them out and let the table argue; the disagreement is where you learn who actually read it.
Read the source with the answer
Chapter or character page. It ends the argument and it teaches the second fact — why the answer matters.
Then play the interview
Ask the roleplay skill for the hiring scene: a supervisor, a contract and a partner who wants your lunch. It is a better test of understanding than any last question.
The worlds, briefly

Read the manga, then live in it
The roleplay hub runs scenes with characters who keep their history. The explore page has the worlds the quiz points at, including the ones that only exist as maps.
Built with the roleplay skill
The scenes here come from the roleplay skill: it writes the character’s history and voice, sets the room, and remembers what you promised. The character-sheet skill is what you use when you want a supporting devil hunter with a real file — rank, contract, and one thing they will not say out loud.
FAQ
Does this quiz spoil the ending?
Yes. Several answers name deaths and the state of the cast after part one. If you are mid-read, take the first six questions and come back.
Anime or manga?
Manga. The anime covers part of the story, and a few answers here depend on chapters the adaptation has not reached.
Why so many questions about Public Safety?
Because the organisation is the plot. Devils are the weather; the job is the story.
Is any of this invented for difficulty?
No. Every answer appears on a character page or in a chapter, and the page names which. Where canon is silent, the answer says so.
Can I use this for a watch-party quiz?
Yes — twelve questions is roughly twenty minutes with arguing. Keep the answers hidden until the end or the room will negotiate.
What should I try if I liked the dark-fantasy tone?
The roleplay hub has worlds in the same register, and the Jujutsu Kaisen portal is the nearest neighbour in mood.
