Eggson: Dandy's World's Retired Egg Hunt Champion

Eggson is Dandy's World's hard-boiled egg elder: one of twelve Holiday Toons, a former Egg Hunt Champion, and the Toon who asks whether you have been sleeping.

Who Eggson is
Eggson — Eggson the Egg on the wiki — is one of the twelve Holiday Toons in Dandy’s World, and the only Easter one. He was introduced on 18 April 2025 alongside Bassie, Cocoa and Flyte, and he is only obtainable during the Easter Event in Bassie’s Store, which makes him limited-time content by design. He is not a starter, not a common drop, and not a character you can decide to pick up in July: if the event is closed, the only Eggson left is the one in your memory of the run.
What makes him more than a seasonal skin is the voice. He is written as an elder: he says “back in my day”, calls the other Toons young man or young lady, and treats a smile as “something of the utmost importance”. He is a former Egg Hunt Champion with long stories about past hunts, and he is completely, cheerfully obsessed with eggs. That combination — old man, competitor, egg — is the whole character, and it is more coherent than it sounds.

Open a scene with an old Toon
Give the roleplay skill a place and a mood. It writes the scene in Eggson’s register — slow, courteous, faintly preoccupied with eggs — and remembers what you told him last time.
The look: a halved egg in a waistcoat
Eggson is a brown hard-boiled egg cut in half, and the design refuses to hide it: the white and the yolk are visible at the cut, which means his head reads as food before it reads as a face. On top of that sit small round spectacles with yellow lenses and a gentle, closed-mouth smile. He wears a droopy lemon-yellow bow tie shaped like a lemniscate — an infinity sign — above a buttoned shirt striped orange and yellow across the torso, white sleeves, yellow cuffs and black buttons. He carries an orange cane with a yellow stripe and a black base.
- Silhouette — A rounded top and a wide striped body: readable at any distance, which is why he works as a small sprite.
- Palette — Brown shell, lemon yellow, orange, a little white. Four colours, no gradients, no glow.
- The cane — A prop that does double duty: it signals age and gives the character something to do with his hands in a still frame.
- Skins — Vintage, Painted Patterns, Golden Egg, Spring-Time and Still Hip each recolour the same geometry rather than redesigning it.
Personality: the elder who notices
Most of Eggson’s dialogue is care disguised as small talk. He checks on Astro for dozing off and refuses the excuse; he tells Bassie that he was “in terrible need of seeing you smile”; he offers advice to Toons who seem to be struggling, then admits he is not sure he has any advice that is not about eggs. The wiki describes him as thoughtful and looking out for others’ best interests, and the dialogue bears it out: he is the only character in the cast who asks questions about how someone is doing and then waits for the answer.

Stories that run on the same engine
Eggson is a character, not a game mode, so the closest thing to playing him is a roleplay: one room, one conversation, a character with a voice and a memory. These six do that job in different registers.

The quiet register
Method is about a man who is always partly acting, which is the nearest analogue to a Toon who cannot leave the circus. Night Call keeps the camera in one room and lets the scene be carried by someone checking in on you. The Quiet After is the hurt/comfort version: a character who notices what you are not saying. All three rely on the same trick — attention as a form of plot.
The old-soul register
Starfall Return is a reunion after eight years, and it shows how much weight a character’s age adds to a first scene. His Terms turns a conversation into a contract, which is what an old competitor would do if you asked him for terms. Second Life · Rose Manor puts a very old man in a very old house and lets the house do the talking — the gothic version of Eggson’s shop, where the past is not backstory but furniture.

The counter at closing time
Bassie’s Store, after the event. Eggson is putting the last painted eggs away and asks why you are still there. Start with the object, not the feeling.
The trophy nobody remembers
He is polishing something from a hunt that happened before you were a Toon. Let him tell one story, and let one detail in it not add up.
The advice you did not ask for
You are about to start a run you are not ready for. He offers wisdom, then admits it might be egg-related. The comedy and the care are the same beat.

Play it, or build your own Toon
The roleplay hub opens a scene in the browser with a character who remembers the last one. If you would rather make the character yourself, start with one sentence about who they are when nobody is watching.
Built with the roleplay skill
roleplay writes the scene in the character’s voice: it takes the place, the mood and one line of dialogue, and keeps the register consistent across turns. character-sheet is the companion call — a single reference sheet with the face, outfit and palette, so the character looks the same in the second scene as in the first.
FAQ
Is Eggson a real Dandy’s World character?
Yes. He is a Holiday Toon introduced on 18 April 2025 with Bassie, Cocoa and Flyte, available during the Easter Event in Bassie’s Store. Everything on this page about his design and dialogue comes from the Dandy’s World wiki.
Can I still get Eggson in the game?
Only while the Easter Event is running; he is limited-time content by design. Outside the event the character still exists in the fiction, which is why people search for him long after the store closes.
What does Eggson do in a run?
He is a support-flavoured Toon with a passive ability, the same three-point stat spread as the starters and other common Event Toons, and a mastery track that rewards the Vintage skin. This page is about the character, not a build guide — the wiki has the machine-by-machine strategy.
Why is he obsessed with eggs?
Because he is one. His hobbies are egg-related, he asks Cosmo to hide eggs from the fridge, and his shortest descending line is literally “Eggs.” The joke is consistent rather than random, which is why it reads as character and not a gimmick.
What is Twisted Eggson?
The twisted counterpart in the game’s enemy roster. It keeps the silhouette and the bow tie and strips the kindness out, which is the standard way Dandy’s World turns a Toon into a threat.
Is this official art?
No. The illustrations on this page are original interpretations drawn for this article, not official assets, and they are not endorsed by the game. The facts are sourced from the wiki; the pictures are fan work.
