Four families, one bloodline war

The Harry Potter family tree is not one tree. It is four families whose marriages, estrangements and loyalties decide the war: the Blacks, the Potters, the Weasleys and the Malfoys.

Each network on this page is drawn from canon relations, not from a generated illustration. Open a family and follow the lines.

  • House of Black — Sirius, Regulus and the three sisters. The pure-blood family that produced both a blood traitor and the Dark Lord's most devoted follower.
  • The Potters — James, Lily and Harry, with Sirius, Remus and the Weasleys standing in for the family Harry lost.
  • The Weasleys — seven children, one crooked house, and the first family that treated Harry as their own.
  • The Malfoys — old money, borrowed power, and a mother who chose her son over the Dark Lord.

How to read the lines

Gold is bloodline, including marriage where a family joins another. Pale lines are friendship and chosen family. Dashed lines are estrangement or rivalry. Every line is data; click a character to read who they are and how they connect.

Why a network instead of a poster

A poster can only show one arrangement. A network lets you switch views: the whole family, the bloodline only, the Malfoys, or the war as it touches each house. It is also the only way to keep the relations accurate at this density.

Build your own

The same network format works for any world with named characters and canon relations. Start with a world you love, and the skill lays out the nodes, edges and portraits for you.
