HyperLap2D Skill — Layered 2D Scene Editor in the Browser
Compose a complex 2D scene in separable depth bands, drive the camera, tune the parallax and preview what a libGDX or Spine project would render.
What it does
The scene model of HyperLap2D — the platform-independent visual editor for complex 2D worlds — rebuilt to run in the browser. Compose a scene in depth bands, drive the camera, tune the separation, and preview what a libGDX or Spine project would render.
The process
- The scene is blocked into separate depth bands: far sky, distant landform, mid structure, close foreground.
- Each band is painterly-rendered so its silhouette reads on its own.
- Atmospheric haze sits between the bands, selling distance with light rather than added detail.
- Each band gets its own depth factor — sky drifts a little, foreground moves most.
- The layer set exports with those factors, shaped for a libGDX or Spine runtime.
What you can do on any example
Move the pointer to drive the camera, click a layer name to hide that band, and use the depth dial to scale the whole parallax spread from flat backdrop to strong separation.
On the upstream project
The original HyperLap2D is a Java, libGDX-backed desktop editor with a Spine runtime. This is the layering and camera model it uses, without the install.
